Celebration of the Lakes 2010 Recap

Great Big THANK YOU to all the racers that chipped in at the end of the day. WOW could anything else have gone Haywire! But we all got through it and got the event completed. You all put on a Good show for people and they appreciated it and hung with us through the delay. I will get the Official word from the Sheriff Dept. this week but I estimated around 3500 spectators out there cheering you all on. Special thanks have to go out to Frank Neuman for shaving the track. I always do that but Frank saw on Wensday that I was't there and After Shaving the "Kids Pro Ice" track and the "Lake Martha Motorcycle Club" track he Jumped on the "MSDRS" track and had it just about done by the time I got there from work. Also need to Thank everyone that jumped on the Chainsaws and chisels when the chipper went down, How we have been spoiled by the chipper!!!I'll post results tomorrow night and send checks to those that didn't pick them up before they left. See you all in Waseca Feb 13th and 14th!!!!!  RESULTS

REMINDER Please take a quick look at the Weather Policy Below. Doesn't sound like it will be a issue this weekend but everyone should review the criteria for future races!

There has been discussion of hosting 2 bracket classes this season. A test of the timing system in early december will be done to determine if it is possible to run 4 abreast in a Bracket format.  More information coming. We will also be offering the "King Ice" Class again this season.

NEW Weather Policy

After the last few years with last minute race cancellations, we have implemented a weather policy to aid in travel costs and unneeded hotel stays. At 6pm the evening prior to each event the race will be deemed a go or no go based on the forecast for the following day. Each day will be treated seperately this way. We will cancel for these criteria. If the Air temp combined with the wind chill factor is -20 or greater a 12 Noon the day of the race.We will use the Accuweather website as the official forecast tool. It can be received just about everywhere there is Internet or Cell phone service. It will appear here on the homepage and change as locations change. If you click on the Hourly info link and then the correct day, follow the Noon column and all the information is right there. RealFeel is the windchill. Hopefully this will help in easing the dilema of driving up the night before without knowing if we are racing or not.

Brainerd Recap

Well the first race weekend came and went, but not without the weather playing it's part in the event. Saturday mgreeted racers with a weeks worth of light snowfalls being blown sideways across the race track behind a 25 mph wind. The start of the race was delayed and eventually canceled as the winds would not subside.Sundays plan was for a double event. When we got to the race track in the morning everything looked great, the sun was out and the temps were up, then the wind came again and the clouds followed with light snow squalls. Again racing was delayed because the finish line wasn't visible from the starting line at times. Finally late in the afternoon as te wind started to let up some the decision was made to run the first few classes and make a final call from there. Thankfully the winds continued to lay down and 1 day of racing is in the books. Results are HERE.
A makeup event will be held March 7th and 8th with a Speed run on the 8th. Look for the schedule updates soon.
